The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Placencia looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Bishop is fending him off so far but Placencia persists. Nope, Bishop circles away and we're back to standing.
Placencia dives in for a single leg takedown but Bishop sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the ropes.
Placencia throws a shot from downtown. Bishop moves away and avoids it.
Bishop has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Placencia.
Placencia tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Bishop is able to avoid easily.

Placencia is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Bishop stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Placencia swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Oh but Placencia is tightening it up a little... Bishop has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Bishop reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Bishop taps out! Nice BJJ there by Placencia!
