PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Uncle Creepy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Warren Peace (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Creepy's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Icky Thump. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Uncle Creepy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Warren Peace!
The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Aafke Stam and Wagner Zegers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Peace will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Peace closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Creepy's guard.
Peace looking to pass the guard.
We've been hearing good reports from Creepy's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Peace is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Creepy is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Creepy has escaped and now he's on top!

Creepy slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Peace had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Creepy defends it easily.

Peace is trying to keep Creepy in close.
Creepy trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Peace looking for a sweep. Not yet Peace, not yet.
Creepy postures up.
Peace lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Peace wants to control from the top but Creepy keeps moving.

Peace postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Creepy is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Peace, into his guard.

Our spies down at at Sanitarium inform us that Peace has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Will it pay off?
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Creepy slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Creepy trying to control but Peace is working from the bottom.

Peace escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Creepy gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Creepy not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Peace is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Peace is on top in guard.

Creepy bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Peace's guard.


Peace looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Creepy passes into half guard.
Creepy slows the pace down in half guard.
Creepy is keen to just control but Peace is a slippery customer.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The fighters are battling for position here. Peace manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Creepy won't allow Peace to sweep him here.
Peace lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Peace tries to free his leg and advance position but Creepy is retaining full guard.
Peace stopping the sweep attempt from Creepy.
Peace trying to control the position from guard on top but Creepy is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Peace drops back, looking for a kneebar! Creepy looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Creepy looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Creepy!

Creepy is looking to take a break and control but Peace is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Warren Peace will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Peace is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Creepy.
Peace looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Creepy is fending him off so far but Peace persists. Nope, Creepy circles away and we're back to standing.
Creepy is looking to counter punch.
Peace shoots and misses
and Creepy counters with a nice uppercut.
Creepy throws a right hand that misses
and Peace counters with a right hand to the body.
Peace shoots in looking for a takedown. Creepy tries to sprawl out of it but Peace keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Creepy manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
A little feinted left hand from Creepy on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Uncle Creepy has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Warren Peace.

Peace shoots in and bounces Creepy off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Creepy has Peace pulled in close to control his posture.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Peace drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Creepy dives on top into guard.

Peace wants to sweep here but Creepy controlling him for the moment.
Warren Peace has got the better of the ground game so far.
Creepy pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Peace is keeping the position for now.
Creepy has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Peace is proving hard to escape from.
Creepy might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Peace keeping moving, preventing Creepy from controlling successfully.

Peace throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Creepy escapes and throws Peace's legs to the side, diving into side control!
Peace gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Creepy seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Peace does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Peace is looking to improve his position.
Creepy is trying to control the action in half guard but Peace is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Peace is trying to control but can't.
Peace is looking to improve his position.
Peace is not content to let Creepy control the position.
Creepy looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Peace is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Creepy's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Creepy's back!
Creepy tries to escape but Peace has the hooks in and won't let him break free.

Peace looking to finish the fight with a rear naked choke. Creepy is controlling Peace 's left arm and he spins nicely into guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Creepy controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

Peace is looking to cinch up a triangle. Creepy throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Peace's body to avoid the submission. Peace has instead reached around Creepy's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Peace arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:45 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Warren Peace!
A less than humble Warren Peace misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
