Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Mamed Khalidov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Daulton Shearer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Khalidov comes to the ring accompanied by Mamed - CoreMoon. Shearer has chosen Life style as his entrance music. Daulton Shearer will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Khalidov has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Khalidov there as he acknowledges the shot.
Shearer throws a head kick but Khalidov moves out of range.

and Khalidov counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Khalidov.
Khalidov stays in close to Shearer's body and controls the position.
Khalidov forces his way into half guard.
Khalidov content to control rather than advance.
Shearer is looking to escape.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Shearer wants to stand back up but Khalidov manages to pass into side control.

Khalidov decides to stand up, so the ref orders Shearer to his feet.

Shearer looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Shearer lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Khalidov circles away quickly and effectively.

Khalidov closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Khalidov is staying tight to Shearer's torso, preventing him from escaping.
Shearer tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck.

We've been hearing reports that Khalidov has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.

Khalidov decides to stand back up. Khalidov steps back and let's Shearer get back to his feet.
Shearer looks to land a left hand but Khalidov moved out of range nicely.

Khalidov stands up and beckons Shearer to his feet.

Khalidov shoots in looking for a takedown. Shearer tries to sprawl out of it but Khalidov keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the ropes. Shearer manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Khalidov shoots in but Shearer avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Khalidov throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Shearer was covering up waiting for the punch and Khalidov finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Shearer wants to get back to his feet but Khalidov is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Shearer tries to push off, looking to stand up, but Khalidov manages to move to mount!
