Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Derek The Brave!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, DeMarcus DeSilva!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Chris Downing and Gwen Towbar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A slow jab from The Brave misses its intended target.
The Brave looks for a takedown but DeSilva sprawls well.
The Brave fails to land the takedown.
The Brave shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. DeSilva defends it nicely.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Derek The Brave. That's going to take a lot out of him.

The Brave is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

and DeSilva connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

The Brave throws an uppercut from half a mile away. DeSilva sees it coming and avoids it easily.
DeSilva scores with the left hand. The Brave knows he should have avoided that one.
DeSilva feints and then cracks The Brave's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow The Brave down.
A telegraphed right hand from DeSilva misses the target.
It looked like The Brave wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
The Brave looks for the body kick but DeSilva saw that one coming.
The Brave throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
DeSilva bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of The Brave's head.
DeSilva wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.

DeSilva looks like he wants to counter punch here.
DeSilva thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on The Brave if he has to take too many more of those.

The Brave shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. The Brave showed some decent athleticism there.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
DeSilva tries to roll over but The Brave keeps him under control.

The Brave in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

The Brave got a little sloppy there for a moment and DeSilva has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, The Brave has managed to get both his arms back between DeSilva's legs - danger averted.

The Brave stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. DeSilva swivels though and keeps the full guard.

DeSilva has his foot on The Brave's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. The Brave works his way back into a safe position though.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as The Brave accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

DeSilva is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

That's time! The Brave's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


The Brave throws a shot from downtown. DeSilva moves away and avoids it.
DeMarcus DeSilva seems to be getting the better of the standup.
DeSilva throws a nice inside leg kick.
DeSilva has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
DeSilva is looking to clinch but The Brave is avoiding it.
DeSilva scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
The Brave is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by DeSilva.

DeSilva fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and The Brave has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

DeSilva throws a front kick aimed at The Brave's knee but The Brave avoids it well.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

The Brave shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as DeSilva sprawls well. DeSilva wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. The Brave gets slowly back to his feet.

DeSilva displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as The Brave throws out the jab.
The Brave throws a right and a left that DeSilva avoids nicely.

DeSilva lands a really nice looking cross but The Brave seems unphased.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

DeSilva is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. The Brave is aware though and is defending well.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
DeSilva utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

DeSilva has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but The Brave can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
The Brave wants to control from the top but DeSilva keeps moving.
Derek The Brave overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
The Brave is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because DeSilva is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

DeSilva lands with a hook. The Brave tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.

DeMarcus DeSilva showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!


Good leg kick by DeSilva there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

We've been told by The Brave's head coaches at Total Impact that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.

DeSilva fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt The Brave.
DeSilva tries to clinch but The Brave is having none of it.
The Brave was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.

and DeSilva counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from DeSilva lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and The Brave has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from The Brave and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

DeSilva will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
DeSilva throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
The Brave connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.

It looks like DeMarcus DeSilva has been cut.
DeSilva misses with a series of wild punches.

DeSilva dives in and scores a takedown into The Brave's guard.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

DeSilva is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The Brave postures up in DeSilva's guard and throws a big left but DeSilva blocks it.

DeMarcus DeSilva comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well DeSilva has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
