The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Emerson Jorge and Matheus Silva.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Augusto closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Rocha did well to prevent Augusto getting side control.
Augusto is trying to work for a kimura but Rocha is defending well.
Rocha tries to kick Augusto off but Augusto keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Rocha knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Augusto on the ground.

Augusto is looking for a kimura but Rocha is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Augusto to get the leverage.

Augusto can't control as he wanted to and Rocha manages to get the fight back to his half guard.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Rocha is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Augusto jumps into side control!

Rocha shoots in for a takedown but Augusto shows good takedown defense.

Augusto stands and throws Rocha's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Augusto throws a right and a left that both miss.
Rocha swats away the attempt to clinch by Augusto.
Augusto tries to close the distance and clinch up but Rocha swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Augusto throws a leg kick but Rocha sees it coming and moves out of range.
As Augusto looks to move away, Rocha throws a big counter combo bu Augusto just gets out of the way.
Rocha shoots for a double leg takedown but Augusto sprawls well. He's pushed Rocha's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Augusto looks to score with a jab to the body but Rocha is just out of range.
Rocha tries to counter with a takedown but Augusto is quick to defend against it.
Rocha is looking to clinch but Augusto is avoiding it.
Augusto lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.

Rocha throws a head kick but Augusto moves out of range.
Rocha looks to throw a body kick
and Augusto counters with a shoot takedown. Rocha fights it but they end up in guard.
Rocha can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Augusto controls the pace.
It looks like Augusto might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
Augusto gets to his feet. Rocha looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Augusto circles away from the clinch attempt.
Augusto is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.
Augusto shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Augusto was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Rocha tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Augusto wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Rocha tries to clinch up but Augusto circles away and keeps his distance.
Ricardo Rocha is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Rocha tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Augusto swivels and escapes.
Rocha shoots in looking for a takedown. Augusto tries to sprawl out of it but Rocha keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Augusto manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Augusto throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Rocha wants to clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Rocha gets caught napping as Augusto dives in and scores a takedown. Rocha manages to retain guard.
Rocha is looking to stand up but Augusto isn't so interested in that idea.
Augusto controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

Rocha is looking for a triangle but Augusto pushes his legs off easily.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Augusto jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Rocha manages to avoid the submission attempt.

Rocha parries the strikes from Augusto easily there. Augusto is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Rocha to escape.
Rocha tries to control but Augusto manages to take his back.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Augusto has both hooks in and is working for a choke. Rocha is in real trouble here. Augusto gets an arm under the chin and tightens the submission attempt... is this the end? Yes, Rocha is tapping out! Augusto wins by rear naked choke!
