Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Geraldo Tate (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joey Jits (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Geraldo Tate!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Joey Jits!
The judges for this bout are Saam Ante, Patrick Alders and Daniel Blasius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jits throws a series of punches but Tate avoids them all with ease.
Tate feinted with a counter takedown.
Jits is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Jits tries for a takedown but Tate sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Tate tries to close the distance and clinch but Jits swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Jits manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Tate on his heels. He'll look to pass Tate's guard now, I'm sure.

Tate is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Jits is aware though and is defending well.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Jits is looking to advance position but Tate has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!


Tate swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Jits is now in Tate's guard. A big mistake from Tate there, giving up the dominant position!

Jits has gone for a leg lock! Tate slips out almost immediately though and dives into Jits's guard.


That's one minute gone in the round.
Tate has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Jits is proving hard to escape from.

Jits looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Tate wants to get up but he can't break Jits's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Tate distracts Jits with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.

Jits has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Tate can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Tate wants to stand but Jits has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Tate postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Tate is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Tate scoring with punches to the head and body.

Jits throws his legs up looking for a submission but Tate uses it to pass to side control.
Jits looks winded!

Tate is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Jits is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Tate stands up.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Jits shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Tate but Tate pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Tate looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Jits is fending him off so far but Tate persists. Nope, Jits circles away and we're back to standing.
Tate goes for a double leg but Jits avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Jits continues to drive forward.
Tate fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Geraldo Tate. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
A looping hook to the body misses from Jits. Tate does a little dance to reset his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Geraldo Tate will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.



Jits clinches.
Tate jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Jits walks away with a smile on his face. Tate gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Tate showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Jits.
Jits shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
The fight stays on the outside here - Jits looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Tate wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Jits moves into the clinch successfully.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Tate tries to pull guard but Jits holds him up against the cage and eventually Tate drops back down to his feet.
A bit of stalling here from Tate.
Tate taking a break, stalling in the clinch.
Jits wants to take the fight to the mat but Tate manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Tate misses with a punch on the inside.
Tate is trying to pull guard but Jits has him pressed against the cage.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Geraldo Tate. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Tate is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Jits is defending well for now.
Tate is pushing Jits up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Jits goes for a body shot but it's blocked.

Tate successfully pulls guard.
Tate trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!

Jits postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Tate is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Jits, into his guard.


Tate stands and steps away. Jits gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Jits throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Tate went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
Tate circles away from the clinch attempt.
Tate changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.
Jits keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Tate.

Jits shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Jits is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Tate has managed to free his arm - good work.
Jits tries to pass the half guard into mount. Tate knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Tate has one foot on Jits's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Tate shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Tate showed some decent athleticism there.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Jits actively working from the bottom here.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Geraldo Tate will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!



Jits moves into the clinch.

Tate breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Tate fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Jits feints the counter takedown.
Tate tries for a takedown but Jits sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Joey Jits seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Jits darts in and clinches Tate up against the cage.
Tate tries for a takedown. No joy.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Geraldo Tate. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Jits has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Tate regains guard immediately.
Tate will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Jits drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Jits jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Jits pushes down on Tate's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Joey Jits has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Tate wants to improve his position but Jits is controlling well.
Tate is pressing down on Jits's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

Tate escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Jits gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Jits is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Tate is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Tate has escaped and now he's on top!


Jits has an active guard here but Tate has managed to pass into half guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Tate missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Tate wants to stand but his hand is trapped. Jits uses the opportunity to regain full guard.
Tate with a flurry of punches that miss.

Tate gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Tate takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
As Jits tries to get set, Tate tries to push him back and clinch up but Jits manages to avoid the attempt.
Tate keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Tate half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
Jits defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Tate.
Jits fails in his attempt to clinch.
Tate drops down looking for a counter takedown but Jits sprawls and moves away.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Tate looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

And that's the end of the fight!
Joey Jits comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Tate has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
