Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Michael Pope (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Love-Hate Powell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pope comes to the cage accompanied by For Whom The Bell Tolls. Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 27 - 17 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Michael Pope!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Love-Hate Powell!
The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Luis Engracia and Daniel Cesar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Powell lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Pope misses the jab.
The fight stays on the outside here - Pope looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Pope misses with a combination
and Powell counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Pope tries to close the distance and clinch up but Powell swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Nice sprawl there from Powell as Pope shoots in.

and Powell counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Powell shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Pope's guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Powell throws an elbow that misses. Pope uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Powell's guard. Nice move by Pope!

Pope got a little sloppy there for a moment and Powell has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Pope has managed to get both his arms back between Powell's legs - danger averted.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Pope not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Powell is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Pope off and has taken his back!

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Powell has his foot on Pope's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Pope works his way back into a safe position though.

Powell will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Pope up against the cage.

Love-Hate Powell comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Powell has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
