Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 8 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Carlton Kerhley!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 24 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Emanoel Moreno!
The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Paulsen Ambrosius and Daniel Blasius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Moreno gets caught flat footed, as Kerhley shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Kerhley postures up.
Moreno wants to sweep here but Kerhley controlling him for the moment.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kerhley trying to control the position from guard on top but Moreno is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Kerhley stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Moreno swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Our spies down at at Brazilian Elite Team inform us that Moreno has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Will it pay off?
Moreno is trying to keep Kerhley in close.
Moreno seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Moreno manages to work his way to half guard, despite Kerhley's best efforts.
Moreno moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Kerhley has gone for a leg lock! Moreno slips out almost immediately though and dives into Kerhley's guard.

Kerhley tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Moreno wants to control from the top but Kerhley keeps moving.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Carlton Kerhley seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Kerhley feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Kerhley stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Moreno swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Kerhley is pushing down on Moreno's leg trying to pass to half guard. Moreno is fighting to maintain full guard but Kerhley has managed to sneak the leg through.

Kerhley wants to take a breather but Moreno is having none of it.

Kerhley is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Kerhley is thwarting Moreno's attempts to control the position.

Moreno wants to improve his position but Kerhley is controlling well.

The crowd hopeful of a finish here - Kerhley's supporters are on their feet, screaming for him to go for the rear naked choke.
Moreno is trying to break free.
Moreno just trying to survive but Kerhley is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Kerhley has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Moreno to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Kerhley is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Moreno pulls down on the head and he's put Kerhley to sleep! This one is all over!

A relieved looking Emanoel Moreno thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
