The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
De Villefort closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Vines's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Vines wants to sweep here but De Villefort controlling him for the moment.
Vines is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
De Villefort stands up over Vines, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
De Villefort loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
De Villefort trying to control but Vines is working from the bottom.
Vines has momentary wrist control but De Villefort slips an elbow through the middle.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
De Villefort throws an elbow that misses. Vines uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in De Villefort's guard. Nice move by Vines!
De Villefort has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Vines doesn't defend quickly enough and De Villefort has managed to lock this one up! Can Vines escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to De Villefort on a fantastic submission victory.
