Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mats Thoreson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tim Fala (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

14 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Tim Fala!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Stewart Dunkirk and Robert Twigg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thoreson finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Fala tries to clinch up.
Mats Thoreson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Fala tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Thoreson has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Thoreson's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Fala pushes Thoreson off but Thoreson dives into side control.

Thoreson seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Fala for as long as he can get away with.
Thoreson has hold of Fala's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Fala tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Thoreson cranks the arm and Fala screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Fala, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:46 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Mats Thoreson!
During a confident post fight interview, Mats Thoreson thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
