PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight kickboxing rules bout between William Bird (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dark Killer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 30 - 6 - 0, fighting out of London, William Bird!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 7 - 0, fighting out of London, Dark Killer!
The judges for this bout are Phil Schofield, Donald Grub and Steven Brown.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bird throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Killer moves in looking to clinch but Bird pushes him off.
Bird thinks about countering with a body kick.
Bird lets loose with a powerful body kick. Killer will feel that in the morning.
Killer tries to clinch but Bird is having none of it.
It looked like Bird wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Killer tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Bird makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
Bird connects with a nice looking jab.

Bird gets tackled into the cage by Killer. Killer maintains the clinch.
Killer blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Killer working some nice short punches in the clinch.
Bird has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.

Bird was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.
Bird smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.

Bird lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Killer has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Bird.
Killer is looking to clinch but Bird is avoiding it.
Bird bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Killer has taken the fight to the clinch.

Killer pushes off an throws an elbow but Bird leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.
Bird lands a left hand that snaps the head of Killer backwards.

Killer swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Bird lands a damaging elbow.


It looks like Dark Killer has been cut.
Bird blocks an elbow strike.
Killer looking to throw knees to the head but Bird is blocking nicely.
Killer is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.

Killer pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage.
Killer using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Bird has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

Bird throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.
Killer tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Bird paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Killer gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Bird comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.
Killer works on Bird's body with a couple of short punches.

The fight stays on the outside here - Killer looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Bird throws a front kick that sends Killer stumbling back into the cage.
Bird buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Killer fails with an attempt to clinch.
Bird is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.
Bird thuds his shin into the meat of Killer's side.
Bird connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Killer tries to clinch but Bird is having none of it.
Bird connects with an inside leg kick.
Killer wants to clinch.
Bird lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Bird lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Bird lands a nice leg kick that just misses Killer's sensitive parts.
Killer tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

William Bird dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Dark Killer's cut.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Bird cracks the inside of Killer's front leg.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Bird, right into the meat.

Killer has taken the fight to the clinch.
Bird cracks Killer with a big uppercut, right up the middle and Killer goes down! Oh, he's hurt! He's bigtime hurt! The referee is giving him a chance to get back to his feet - 4,5,6,7, no, he's called it off! Killer wasn't going to make it and the fight is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:30 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punch). William Bird!
Post fight, William Bird took to the microphone: 'I am the greatest KT fighter of all time!'.
