Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Alonso Mcguire (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ikkei Sakaguchi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Alonso Mcguire!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ikkei Sakaguchi!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Yukihiro Shimada and Taro Takaoka.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Mcguire gets caught napping as Sakaguchi dives in and scores a takedown. Mcguire manages to retain guard.

Sakaguchi got a little sloppy there for a moment and Mcguire has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Sakaguchi has managed to get both his arms back between Mcguire's legs - danger averted.
Mcguire knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Sakaguchi on the ground.
Sakaguchi stays in close to Mcguire's body and controls the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Sakaguchi wants to control from the top but Mcguire keeps moving.
Sakaguchi showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Let's hope that Sakaguchi has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Sakaguchi stands up over Mcguire, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Sakaguchi slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Mcguire looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Sakaguchi passes into side control.
Mcguire could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Mcguire is looking to reverse the position.
Mcguire is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Sakaguchi's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Sakaguchi wants to take a breather but Mcguire is having none of it.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Sakaguchi throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Mcguire was covering up waiting for the punch and Sakaguchi finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Sakaguchi advances to half guard.
Sakaguchi tries to stand and escape but Mcguire is controlling the position.
Mcguire is pressing down on Sakaguchi's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Sakaguchi stands and throws Mcguire's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Sakaguchi is working to tighten his grip on Mcguire's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Mcguire has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Sakaguchi is really squeezing tight and eventually Mcguire passes out! Sakaguchi breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Ikkei Sakaguchi!
An out of breath Ikkei Sakaguchi thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
