The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Speed throws a right and a left that Salty avoids nicely.
Salty is looking to counter punch.
Salty swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Speed misses with a double jab.
Speed ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Salty moves away.
Speed scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
A head kick by Speed misses
and Salty counters with a stiff right hand.
Speed throws a sloppy head kick and Salty moves out of range easily.
Speed misses with a wild body shot.
Salty wants to clinch but Speed slips to the side
and Speed counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Salty thinking.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Salty stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Salty wants it to stay on the feet.

Speed throws a sloppy head kick and Salty moves out of range easily.
Speed throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Speed ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Salty moves away.
Speed tries for a takedown but Salty circles away easily
and Salty counters with a stiff right hand.
Speed throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Salty thinks about countering with a body kick.
Speed takes one to the chin there.
Speed shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Salty eats them both and turns towards Speed to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Horrible takedown attempt by Speed or perhaps it was just good defense by Salty, which made it look bad.

Speed gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Salty counters by clinching up.
Speed makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
Speed is trying to maintain a safe position but Salty gets an underhook and turns Speed into the cage.

Speed breaks from the clinch.
Tyson Speed seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Speed darts in looking for a takedown but Salty gets double underhooks and turns Speed into the cage.
A head kick misses from Speed.
Salty tries to counter by clinching up but Speed breaks away and moves out of range.

Salty moves into the clinch.
Salty misses with a hook from the clinch.
Salty misses with an elbow strike.

Speed escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Speed throws a head kick that half lands.

Speed misses with a head kick.
Speed throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Speed tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Salty swivels and escapes.
Salty keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Speed.

Speed misses with the combination.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Salty punishes Speed's body with a nice straight punch.
Speed is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Salty rather than just go for the knockout.

Speed lands a left and a right that send Salty crashing to the mat, dazed. Speed thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

Salty wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.
