The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, Sam Margolis and Richard Clark.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Matiss looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Matiss changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Matiss throws a head kick that misses
and Newmark counters with a nice uppercut.
It looks like Mario Matiss has been cut.
Matiss ducks under a wild hook from Newmark.
Matiss uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Newmark.
Newmark throws a hook but Matiss avoids it easily.
Matiss cracks the inside of Newmark's front leg.
Matiss throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Newmark has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Matiss takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Matiss throws a low kick but Newmark moves out of range easily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Matiss.
A big left from Newmark misses.
Matiss throws out a counter right but Newmark avoids it with no problem.
Newmark throws an overhand right that has Matiss reeling! Newmark follows up with more punches and Matiss is out cold! This one is all over!
