Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Bret Cooper (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nicholas Walter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Nicholas Walter has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Bret Cooper!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Nicholas Walter!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Don Winkell and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Walter swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

and Cooper counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Cooper.
Cooper tries to stand but Walter is controlling from the bottom.
Walter trying to control the position.
Cooper knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Walter on the ground.
Walter has Cooper pulled in close to control his posture.
Cooper is looking to stand up but Walter won't let him.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Walter manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Cooper manages to get himself to full guard.

Walter stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Cooper swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Walter wants to control from the top but Cooper keeps moving.

Walter trying to control the position from guard on top but Cooper is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Cooper is looking to sweep but instead, Walter has passed into half guard.
Cooper wants to control the action here but instead Walter manages to pass to full mount!

Walter working for a guillotine from mount but Cooper is in no mood to give up.
Cooper is in all sorts of trouble here.

Cooper is working hard here to advance position.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Walter with shots to the head and body - Cooper looks very uncomfortable down there.
Cooper tries to buck Walter off but he can't manage it.
Cooper swinging wildly from the bottom but he's not landing.

Cooper is desperately trying to improve his position but Walter has a good base and remains in mount.
Walter controlling the pace for now.
Cooper tries to lock up and control but Walter gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Cooper is breathing heavily.

Walter putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound!
Walter tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Cooper tries to improve his position but instead Walter has taken his back!

Walter has his opponent's back and is working for the choke.

Cooper trying to control but not successfully.
A bit of a pause in the action here. Walter controlling the positon.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Cooper tries to break free.
Walter just keeping the dominant position. He can't wait too long though, otherwise the referee will stand them back up.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Cooper looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment.
Walter has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Cooper's body.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Nicholas Walter dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.



Walter moves into range and clinches up with Cooper.

Walter jumps guard and drags Cooper to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Cooper prevents Walter from getting back to his feet.
Walter seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Walter is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Walter has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Walter is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Walter is trying to control the position but Cooper postures up.

Walter escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Cooper gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Walter wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Cooper is now in half guard.

Cooper is working for a kimura but Walter is defending it quite comfortably.
Walter wants to get back to his feet.
Walter gets back to full guard.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Cooper tries to sprawl but Walter drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Walter lands strikes from half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Nicholas Walter showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!



Walter closes the distance and clinches.
Walter blocks a punch to the side of the head.

Walter manages to break the clinch.

Walter decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Walter slows the pace down in half guard.
Cooper trying to hold on to Walter's head to control him but Walter postures up.

Walter frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Walter looking to control but Cooper is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Walter lands a heavy elbow.
Cooper is bucking up trying to escape but Walter cracks him with another couple of good strikes.


Cooper is rocked!

Walter throws some shoulder strikes here and then postures up. Oh, he's gone for an armbar! Cooper has his hands clasped together but Walter breaks the hold and Cooper is forced to tap! This one is aaaaaaaaaaall over! That was lightning fast by Walter!
