PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Tony Barko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Max Handle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Handle is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Right On. On his way into the cage it seems that Tony Barko has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Tony Barko seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Tony Barko!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Max Handle!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Handle misses with a left hand

and Barko decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Handle's guard.
Barko cracks Handle with a solid left hand.
Barko throwing strikes but missing.
Barko forces his way into half guard.
Barko not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Barko wants to take a breather but Handle is having none of it.
Barko looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Barko thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Handle is looking to control Barko's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Handle avoid being mounted?
Barko is trying to control the action in half guard but Handle is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Barko is thwarting Handle's attempts to control the position.
Barko slips a nice elbow through Handle's hands, connecting with Handle's forehead.
Barko uses his free foot to push down on Handle's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Handle.
We've been hearing that Barko has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.
Handle really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Barko. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Handle in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head.
Handle is bucking up trying to escape but Barko cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
Barko is landing with some decent strikes but Handle is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.


Handle is rocked!
Barko cracks Handle with a big head shot that has him covering up instantly! He's rolled onto his side and the referee has seen enough - this one is aaaaaaaaaaall over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Tony Barko!
Tony Barko bigged himself up after the win. The crowd seemed to love it.
