Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Washington slips a jab and a cross from Vasquez.
Franki Vasquez seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Washington stuffs the takedown attempt from Vasquez. Vasquez gets slowly back to his feet.
Vasquez throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Washington.
And Washington tries to counter it with a takedown but Vasquez pushes his down on his head and steps out.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Washington accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Washington is in close to Vasquez's body, working some short punches and elbows.

Washington drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Vasquez dives on top into guard.

Vasquez throws an elbow that misses. Washington uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Vasquez's guard. Nice move by Washington!

Vasquez is working an open guard so Washington takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Washington escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Washington tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Washington is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Vasquez is defending well for now.

Washington is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Vasquez gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Washington changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Vasquez fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Vasquez lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Vasquez.
Washington takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Vasquez shoots for a takedown but Washington saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Washington shoots in looking for a takedown but Vasquez manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Washington's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
