The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Piper looks to land a combination but Wallace avoids it well.
Wallace shoots in looking for a takedown. Piper tries to sprawl out of it but Wallace keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the ropes. Piper manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Piper connects with a crisp jab.

Wallace looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Piper!
Piper is trying to control Wallace's posture but Wallace avoids it.
