Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
11 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Billy O Brien!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
25 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Jason Yee!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Don Winkell and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Yee throws a lazy right hand but O Brien sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
O Brien misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Yee has closed the distance and engaged O Brien in a clinch.
O Brien tries to pull guard but Yee holds him up against the cage and eventually O Brien drops back down to his feet.
Yee lands a hook to the side of the head.
Yee misses with a shot to the kidneys.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for O Brien.
O Brien tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Yee tries to work over O Brien's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Yee lands an elbow inside that O Brien shrugs off.
It looks like Billy O Brien has been cut.
A quick uppercut on the inside from Yee.
O Brien lands a hook to the side of the head.
O Brien lands a nice knee to the body.
O Brien blocks an elbow strike from Yee.
O Brien lands a hook that snaps the head of Yee backwards.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Yee on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
O Brien decides to pull guard.
Yee postures up.
Yee tries to free his leg and advance position but O Brien is retaining full guard.
Yee wanted to stand there but O Brien had control of the position.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Yee got a little sloppy there for a moment and O Brien has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Yee has managed to get both his arms back between O Brien's legs - danger averted.
O Brien is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Yee is aware though and is defending well.
Yee controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Yee stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. O Brien swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Yee really doesn't want to stay on the ground with O Brien. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
O Brien working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Yee doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Yee manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
O Brien has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Yee can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
O Brien is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Yee looking to pass the guard.
O Brien looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Yee is defending well. O Brien quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Yee has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! O Brien celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
