Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Justin Hurley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vaclav Mika (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mika is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Notorious Big - Just a memory. There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Justin Hurley!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Vaclav Mika!
The judges for this bout are Johanna Lukiainen, Marco Blurström and Anni Minnemäki.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hurley takes a swing at Mika's ribcage but misses.
A looping hook to the body misses from Mika. Hurley does a little dance to reset his feet.
Hurley ducks under a wild hook from Mika.
Mika misses with a hook.
Mika tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Hurley paws at him with a jab and circles away.
A little feinted left hand from Hurley on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Donk. Mika catches Hurley right on the button with a cross.
A looping hook to the body misses from Hurley. Mika does a little dance to reset his feet.
Hurley takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
A combination from Hurley does no damage.
Mika clobbers Hurley with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Mika misses with a straight right.

Mika drops Hurley with a big left hand and mounts him. Hurley is in big trouble!


Hurley is rocked!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Hurley wants to hold on but Mika pushes him away.
Oh Hurley is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Mika has hold of Hurley's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Hurley manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Mika content just to control the position here.
Hurley has given up his back - I don’t know if this is a deliberate ploy to try and escape or if he is just struggling down there.
Mika misses with an elbow to the head.

Hurley seems to have got his legs back now.
Mika not allowing Hurley to control his hands.
Mika has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
I really don't envy Hurley right now.
Mika thows a huge left but connects with the canvas and not his opponent.
Hurley knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Mika on the ground.
Hurley prevents Mika from getting a body triangle.
Mika gets his hands free as Hurley looks to control.
Will Mika go for the finish here or will he try and keep control of the position?

Mika is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Mika wants to control the position but Hurley frees himself and scrambles - Mika manages to regain control in side control.
Hurley is looking to reverse the position.
Hurley looking for a sweep but Mika has passed into full mount! Oh no!

Mika sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!
Hurley tries to reverse the position but Mika maintains control.
Hurley is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Mika has control of Hurley's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Hurley regains control of the situation pretty easily.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Hurley is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Mika tries to control but Hurley wriggling away.
Hurley is trying to stand.
Mika throwing shots from mount but they're not landing.
Mika throwing strikes here but Hurley is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.
Mika trying to control but Hurley is having none of it.
Hurley wants to hold on but Mika pushes him away.
Hurley is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Mika is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Hurley defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Mika.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Vaclav Mika dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Mika lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Justin Hurley is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Sloppy strikes from Hurley. Those never looked like landing.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Mika! But no joy.
Vaclav Mika seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Mika throws a hook but Hurley avoids it easily.
Hurley seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.
Mika has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.
Hurley takes a swing at Mika's ribcage but misses.
Mika fails with an attempt to clinch.
Hurley's jab looks to have found its range, popping Mika under the eye.


It looks like Vaclav Mika has been cut.
Hurley throws a nice looking combination but Mika bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Mika closes the distance and pushes Hurley back into the cage.
Knees to the body from Mika.
Mika is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Hurley is defending well for now.
Hurley misses with a short punch on the inside.
Kneeeeees! The crowd are calling for knees to the body. Mika obliges.
Mika tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Still in the clinch, Mika scores with a nice short uppercut.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Mika lands a nice shot to the body.
Mika lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Hurley backwards.
Mika controlling the position using the Thai clinch, unloads with a massive knee! Boom! He's out cold and slumps to the floor against the cage! I can't wait to see the slow motion replay of that one!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:55 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Knee). Vaclav Mika!
An out of breath and clearly excited Vaclav Mika thanked Fury Nutrition Inc. for their help and support (and free stuff they sent him).
