With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Masa Wasa!
The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Franklyn Lucas and John Roberts.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wasa bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Kawai's head backwards.
Kawai throws a solid leg kick but Wasa takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Kawai.
Wasa throws a series of punches but Kawai avoids them all with ease.
Wasa throws a series of punches but Kawai moves out of range.
Wasa looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Wasa fails to land with a series of punches.
Wasa throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Kawai.
Kawai throws a body shot but no joy.
We've been told by Kawai's head coaches at Main Event Gym that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Kawai scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
A looping hook to the body misses from Kawai. Wasa does a little dance to reset his feet.
A punch lands to the side of Kawai 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Wasa checks a leg kick.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Kawai fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Wasa looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Kawai closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.

Wasa scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.

Wasa is working for a submission of some sort.

Wasa is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Wasa seems to be working for a kimura but Kawai defends the submission attempt.
Kawai won't allow Wasa to pass to mount.

Wasa seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Kawai does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Wasa has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Kawai defend it? Wasa steps over the head and cranks it - Kawai is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Wasa!
