Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mohamed Mullen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Igor Vergoslav (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Igor Vergoslav has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Mohamed Mullen's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Mohamed Mullen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Igor Vergoslav!
The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Marco Blurström and Arvi Lind.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mullen just misses with a punch to the body.
Mullen shoots in but Vergoslav avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Vergoslav feints the counter takedown.
Mullen shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Vergoslav pinned against the cage. Vergoslav gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Despite the aggression on Vergoslav's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.
Mohamed Mullen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Mullen fails in his attempt to clinch.
Mullen really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Vergoslav has picked Mullen up - he's going for a ride! Vergoslav dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
Mullen keeps control of the position for the meantime.
Vergoslav wants to pass the guard but Mullen is defending well.

Vergoslav is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Mullen sees it coming and defends easily.

Mullen is trying to maintain the position but Vergoslav is very close to passing his half guard.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Mullen clinches up with Vergoslav and pushes him back against the cage.

Mullen keeps control of Vergoslav as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

The crowd are getting pretty annoyed with Mullen for his constant stalling in the clinch and are voicing their displeasure.

Vergoslav seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Mullen does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Mullen shoots for a takedown but Vergoslav saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Vergoslav lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
Vergoslav lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Mullen has a takedown stuffed.
Mullen swings for the body but Vergoslav moves out of range.
Vergoslav is looking for the big counter here.
Mullen moves in looking to clinch but Vergoslav pushes him off.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Mullen is trying hard to land a takedown here. Vergoslav sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Mullen thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Vergoslav's head.

Mullen moves into side control, avoiding a weak kimura attempt from Vergoslav.

Vergoslav avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Mullen.

Vergoslav parries the strikes from Mullen easily there. Mullen is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Vergoslav to escape.
Mullen is working Vergoslav over with some ground and pound from side control.
The ground and pound from Mullen seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
Mullen throws an elbow but Vergoslav slips to the side and avoids it well.
Vergoslav is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Mullen lands a nice forearm strike.
Sloppy strikes there by Mullen.
You can see the frustration on Vergoslav's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Mullen creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Vergoslav sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
Mullen scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Vergoslav to see if he's OK.
Mullen will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Mullen lands some shots froms side control.
Vergoslav gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Vergoslav is trying to stand up here but Mullen is controlling him well.
Mullen looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Vergoslav with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

That's time! Mullen's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. And we move into the final round!


Mullen doesn't manage to clinch there - Vergoslav circles away.

Vergoslav shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Vergoslav showed some decent athleticism there.

Mullen has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Vergoslav is working away from the top position though.

Vergoslav wants to lay and pray for a moment but Mullen keeps working.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Vergoslav connects with a nice short shot to Mullen's temple.

Mullen is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Vergoslav pulls his head out easily.

Vergoslav is working for a kimura but Mullen is defending it quite comfortably.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Vergoslav throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Mullen keeping hold of Vergoslav's head, controlling as best he can.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Mullen tries to clinch there but Vergoslav circles away.
Vergoslav has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Vergoslav tries a head kick but it misses.
Mullen wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.
Vergoslav misses with the combination.

Mullen throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Vergoslav was covering up waiting for the punch and Mullen finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Mullen has his hands on Vergoslav's head, controlling the position.
Vergoslav trying to control the position from guard on top but Mullen is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Mullen's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

I think Vergoslav has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
