Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Wyatt Weiss (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Trest Zein (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Wyatt Weiss has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Wyatt Weiss!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Trest Zein!
The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, Joseph Jones and Bruno Lombardi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Weiss fails with an attempt to clinch.

Zein throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Weiss tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Zein is in Weiss's guard.
Weiss being controlled here, momentarily.
Weiss is trying to control the position but Zein postures up.
Zein content to stall in guard here.
Weiss not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Zein throws a big elbow that misses.
Weiss pulls Zein in close to prevent any damage.
Zein wants to control from the top but Weiss keeps moving.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Trest Zein seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Zein misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Zein tries to clinch but Weiss is having none of it.
Zein tries to score a power double leg takedown but Weiss sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Zein somewhat.
Weiss appears to be looking for a counter takedown.
Zein dives in for a single leg takedown but Weiss sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

Wyatt Weiss has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Trest Zein.

Zein closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Zein wants to lay and pray for a moment but Weiss keeps working.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Weiss lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Zein doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
Zein looking to hit a scissor sweep but Weiss is one step ahead there.
Weiss really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Weiss tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Zein manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Zein shoots for a takedown but Weiss saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Weiss has closed the distance and engaged Zein in a clinch.

Zein has a closed guard, preventing Weiss from standing up.

Zein has an active guard here but Weiss has managed to pass into half guard.

Weiss has control of Zein's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Zein regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Zein bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
Trest Zein has got the better of the ground game so far.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Weiss is not content to let Zein control the position.

A close second round but Trest Zein will probably get the nod - 10:9.
That's time! Weiss's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Zein can do anything to dispel that myth.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Zein fails with the takedown.
Weiss tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Zein manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Weiss drives through and clinches with Zein against the cage.
Weiss has Zein pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Zein manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Weiss gets to his feet. Zein looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Zein shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Zein takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Weiss has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Zein is working away from the top position though.

Zein seems to be working for a kimura but Weiss defends the submission attempt.

Zein prevents Weiss from improving his position.

Zein is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Weiss regains full guard. Nicely done.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Wyatt Weiss.
I think Zein has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
