PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Chu ju (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ricardo Rocha (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ricardo Rocha!
The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Luis Engracia and Emerson Jorge.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Rocha moves into the clinch.
ju looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
Rocha throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.
Rocha stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.

Rocha drags the fight down to the ground.
Rocha pulls ju in to control the position.
Rocha thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.

Rocha escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. ju gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

That's one minute gone in the round.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Rocha is on top in guard.

Rocha not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
ju will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Rocha passes easily into side control. Nice work.

Rocha stands up and beckons ju to his feet.
Rocha tries for a takedown but ju sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
ju stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and ju wants it to stay on the feet.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Rocha has ju up against the cage in a clinch.

Rocha gets control of ju's arms and successfully pulls guard. Rocha will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Rocha is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. ju presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.
Rocha lands a body punch in the clinch.
Rocha lands a right hand that snaps the head of ju backwards.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Rocha's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Rocha stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.

Rocha escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

ju sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
Rocha shoots in for a double leg but ju sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Chu ju has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ricardo Rocha.

Rocha rushes ju and presses him up against the cage.
ju looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.

Rocha manages to pull guard.
ju knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Rocha on the ground.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Rocha holds on and takes a little breather.

Rocha escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. ju gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Rocha is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Rocha working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.
ju is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Rocha scores with a couple of nice shots.

Rocha seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. ju is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
