PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Manvel Gamburyan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Keni Susi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gamburyan kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Gamburyan vs. Brown on April 24th. Susi is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Metallica - Hero of the Day. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gamburyan throws a right and a left that Susi avoids nicely.
Gamburyan misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Susi fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Gamburyan shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Susi but Susi pushes him off and we're back to square one.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Susi is defended easily by Gamburyan.
Gamburyan shoots in looking for a takedown but Susi manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Gamburyan's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Susi misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Manvel Gamburyan has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Keni Susi.
Gamburyan shoots in looking for a takedown. Susi tries to sprawl out of it but Gamburyan keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Susi manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Susi is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Gamburyan shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Susi's guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Gamburyan is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Gamburyan has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Susi told us pre-fight that he has been working on his escapes in training. Let's see if he can call on some of his new skills to get back to his feet.
Gamburyan not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Susi has his foot on Gamburyan's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Gamburyan works his way back into a safe position though.

Susi has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Gamburyan can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Susi has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Gamburyan should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Susi has tightened it up now! Gamburyan should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!

A relieved looking Keni Susi thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
