Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Igor Kusilutka (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gary Mead (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 6 - 0, fighting out of London, Igor Kusilutka!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Gary Mead!
The judges for this bout are Valeri Chadov, Viktor Lagutenko and Igor Prikhodko.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kusilutka moves out of range as Mead strikes.
Kusilutka shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Mead but Mead pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Kusilutka looks for a takedown but Mead sprawls well.
Mead throws a nice looking combination but Kusilutka bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Mead misses with a few strikes there.
Kusilutka is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Kusilutka moves out of range as Mead strikes.
Kusilutka is looking to counter the offense by Mead and move into the clinch.
Kusilutka tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Mead swivels and escapes.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Igor Kusilutka. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Mead bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.


It looks like Igor Kusilutka has been cut.
Mead throws a low kick but it's checked well by Kusilutka.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Mead has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kusilutka takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Kusilutka is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Mead tries to kick Kusilutka off but Kusilutka keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Kusilutka seems to be looking for submissions.
Mead is trying to stand.

Kusilutka is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Mead sees it coming and defends easily.
Mead is looking to escape.

Kusilutka is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Kusilutka looks to land a strike but Mead avoids it nicely and regains full guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Kusilutka won't allow Mead to get back to his feet.
Kusilutka throwing strikes from guard but Mead blocks nicely.
Mead is looking to stand up but Kusilutka isn't so interested in that idea.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kusilutka stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Mead swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Gary Mead seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A jab from Mead misses.

Kusilutka closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Mead tries to escape but Kusilutka is in control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Kusilutka working the strikes but Mead uses the opportunity to regain half guard.
Mead avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Kusilutka.

Kusilutka is looking for a kimura but Mead is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Kusilutka to get the leverage.
Mead tries to kick Kusilutka off but Kusilutka keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Kusilutka is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Mead has managed to free his arm - good work.
Kusilutka throws a big elbow that misses, also allowing Mead to regain full guard.

Mead pushes Kusilutka off and scrambles back to his feet.
Gary Mead is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Mead missing with a left hand there. Kusilutka was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Kusilutka has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Kusilutka there as he acknowledges the shot.
Mead fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Kusilutka is out of range.
Kusilutka tries for a takedown but Mead sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Mead misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Kusilutka tries to score a power double leg takedown but Mead sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Kusilutka somewhat.
Mead misses with a few strikes there.
Mead throws a front kick aimed at Kusilutka's knee but Kusilutka avoids it well.
Mead smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Mead throws a right and a left that Kusilutka avoids nicely.
Mead throws a leg kick but Kusilutka sees it coming and checks it nicely.

Kusilutka decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Mead is trying to stand up here but Kusilutka is controlling him well.
Kusilutka thows a huge punch but Mead dodges it nicely.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Gary Mead dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Igor Kusilutka's cut.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Kusilutka shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Mead as he avoids it easily.
Kusilutka shoots in but no luck this time.
Jab from Mead.
Mead lands a nice shot that snaps Kusilutka's head back.
Kusilutka is trying hard to land a takedown here. Mead sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Igor Kusilutka. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Mead misses with an uppercut.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Mead, as that shot connected.

Mead feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Kusilutka sprawling to the canvas! Kusilutka rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Mead finish him?!


Kusilutka is rocked!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Mead throws a left and a right that both miss

and Kusilutka counters with a nice double leg into side control. Mead won't be happy with that.
Oh Kusilutka is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

Kusilutka wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Mead, who protects the arm well.
Mead is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.

Kusilutka goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Mead rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Kusilutka's guard! Nice work there by Mead!
Kusilutka seems to have got his legs back now.
Mead has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Mead wants to get up but he can't break Kusilutka's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Mead stands and steps away. Kusilutka gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Kusilutka shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Mead pinned against the cage. Mead gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Mead throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Kusilutka sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Mead throws a push kick but Kusilutka slaps the foot to one side.
Kusilutka shoots in and drives through. Mead sprawls well.
Mead misses with a looping left.
Kusilutka half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
Mead cracks Kusilutka with an open hand slap.


Igor Kusilutka's cut is getting worse.
Mead throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Mead with a nice cross.
Mead throws a series of punches but Kusilutka avoids them all with ease.
Kusilutka half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
Mead lands an uppercut, right on the button! Kusilutka tumbles backwards into the cage, staring vacantly into space! He's got no idea where he is, who he is or what day it is... Poor guy.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:53 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Gary Mead!
A relieved looking Gary Mead thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
