The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ruell displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Kiapoity.

Kiapoity shoots in and bounces Ruell off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Ruell is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Ruell is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kiapoity postures up and lands a big shot to Ruell's brow.
Kiapoity stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Ruell swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Ruell on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Ruell tries to get out of the position.

Kiapoity drops back looking for a submission - "I'm sorry sir, but I'm gunna break your leg" says Kiapoity as he cranks on the unfortunate limb! Ruell screams and taps out before any major damage is done! Don't mess with Kiapoity! Nice submission victory there!
