Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Xavier De Prado (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Shark (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Xavier De Prado!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, James Shark!
The judges for this bout are Paul Gruel, Ryoma Takatsuka and Colin Fray.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
De Prado doesn't manage to clinch there - Shark circles away.
As De Prado backs off Shark throws a huge counter combo but De Prado manages to avoid it all.
De Prado connects with a solid leg kick.
Shark connects with a body shot.
De Prado tries to close the distance and clinch up but Shark swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Shark is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own.
Shark fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
De Prado appears to be looking for a counter takedown.
De Prado connects with a high kick.
De Prado moves in looking to clinch but Shark pushes him off.
As De Prado backs off Shark throws a huge counter combo but De Prado manages to avoid it all.
De Prado fails with a takedown attempt.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Shark throws a right and a left that De Prado avoids nicely.
De Prado lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Shark keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
De Prado has a takedown stuffed.
James Shark is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

No joy there for De Prado, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Shark connects with a body shot that sends De Prado's belly button to the back.

De Prado instigates a clinch.
De Prado prevents Shark from breaking the clinch.
Shark is trying to force a seperation but De Prado has the dominant position.

De Prado has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Shark uses from the top position.

De Prado can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Shark controls the pace.

Shark slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
De Prado tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Shark misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Xavier De Prado seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Shark scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. De Prado doesn't seem bothered though.
De Prado tries to clinch but Shark is having none of it.
Shark lands a slapping body shot.
Shark is looking to clinch.
De Prado went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
Shark lands a nice shot to the body.
De Prado is breathing heavily.

De Prado is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Shark gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Xavier De Prado. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Shark tries to break the clinch but De Prado is controlling the position.

Shark is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.
Shark's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
The crowd are getting on Shark's back here. They're not happy about his lack of aggression in the clinch.

De Prado successfully pulls guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

James Shark dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Shark throws a right hand that De Prado ducks under and follows up with a left that De Prado also avoids with ease.
De Prado shoots in looking for a takedown but Shark manages to keep the fight standing, pushing De Prado's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
De Prado has his takedown stuffed
and Shark counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Xavier De Prado is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
De Prado needs to keep his hands up - Shark had a free shot at his head there.


It looks like Xavier De Prado has been cut.
Shark misses with a wild combination.
Shark gets in close and tags De Prado with a short punch that almost sends De Prado to the mat! Oh De Prado is in big trouble! He turns his back on Shark, trying to create some distance but Shark rushes him, striking wildly and De Prado goes down! The referee tackles Shark into the cage to end the fight! Shark is one violent man!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:43 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). James Shark!
In his post fight interview, James Shark started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
