Maia comes to the cage accompanied by Hells Bells. Silva has chosen LL CoolJ - Headsprung as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 39 - 25 - 0, fighting out of New York, Miko Maia!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 37 - 22 - 1, fighting out of Helsinki, Daniel Silva!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Gregory Folan and Dillan Fox.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva slips a jab from Maia.
Maia lets loose with a powerful body kick. Silva will feel that in the morning.
Maia tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Silva defends well and Maia ends up having to push Silva into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Miko Maia seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Maia looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Maia lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Maia throws a hook but Silva blocks it.
Maia moves out of range of the body kick.
Silva just misses with a punch to the body.
Maia throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Silva on the side of the head.
Silva scores with a punch to the head.
Maia looks to land a left hand but Silva moved out of range nicely.
It seemed like Silva was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
We've been informed that Silva has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
Good leg kick by Maia there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Maia throws a leg kick which misses Silva's front leg but catches the back leg as Silva tries to avoid it.
Silva uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Maia.
Silva checks the leg kick nicely there.
Maia throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Maia avoids the body shot from Silva.
Maia looked to counter that last move with a leg kick but didn't pull the trigger.
Maia has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Mello MMA in the buildup to the fight.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Maia misses with a hook to the body
and Silva connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.


It looks like Miko Maia has been cut.
A slow jab from Maia misses its intended target.
It seemed like Silva was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Silva keeps the fight on the outside.
Silva lands the left hand.
Silva throws a body shot but no joy.
Maia moves to clinch but Silva breaks away
and Silva counters with a head kick that wobbles Maia - left then right he sways and one more bomb from Silva sends him down. This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:24 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Daniel Silva!
Daniel Silva decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
