Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Hughtavious Mingo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jake Theodorou (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Hughtavious Mingo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Jake Theodorou!
The judges for this bout are Bart Greer, Peter Branson and David Hoff.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Theodorou dives in and scores a takedown into Mingo's guard.
Theodorou throwing strikes from guard but Mingo blocks nicely.

Theodorou has gone for a leg lock! Mingo slips out almost immediately though and dives into Theodorou's guard.

Theodorou is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.


Theodorou is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Theodorou thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Mingo's head.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Theodorou is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Mingo defends it well.

Theodorou is working for a kimura but Mingo is defending it quite comfortably.

Theodorou seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Mingo does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Theodorou throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Theodorou looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Theodorou missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Mingo avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Theodorou.
Theodorou prevents Mingo from standing back up.
Theodorou thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Mingo's head.
Theodorou not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Mingo's coaches at Golden Gym 14 Elite Coachs have been working on his defensive grappling in preparation for this fight so let's see if he can get out of this tricky position.
Theodorou uses his free foot to push down on Mingo's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Mingo.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Mingo is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.
Poor strikes thrown by Theodorou there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
Mingo blocking the ground and pound.
Theodorou cracks Mingo with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Theodorou cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Theodorou landing punches.
Theodorou postures up and throws a big right hand. BOOM! Right on the button! Mingo is out cold - huge knockout for Theodorou!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:54 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Jake Theodorou!
Jake Theodorou gave a mention to Atlantis in his post fight interview. That will please them (and hopefully generate some sales).
