Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Paul Frederick (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Henry (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Henry has chosen Unashamed as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 12 - 0, fighting out of London, Paul Frederick!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, John Henry!
The judges for this bout are Alyssa Summers, Joseph Jones and Columbo Gatti.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Frederick will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Henry stuffs the takedown.
Frederick fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Paul Frederick. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Frederick wants to clinch.
Henry throws a nice outside leg kick.
Frederick shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Henry as he avoids it easily.
Henry flicks out a counter leg kick but Frederick steps away.
Henry throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Henry fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Frederick looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Henry throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Frederick works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Frederick will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Frederick is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Frederick wants to sweep here but Henry controlling him for the moment.
Henry postures up in Frederick's guard and throws a big left but Frederick blocks it.

Henry with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Henry stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Frederick swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Frederick wants to clinch
and Henry counters with a nice body kick.

Henry moves into the clinch.
Frederick is trying to drag Henry to the mat but Henry just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Henry cracks Frederick with a nice body shot.
Frederick is breathing heavily.
A right hand to the body from Henry.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Henry creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Henry lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.

A short body shot lands from Henry as the two fighters clinch.

Henry lands a shoulder strike.
Still in the clinch, Henry scores with a nice short uppercut.
A right hook to the body lands for Henry.
Henry lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Frederick.

Henry is trying to trip Frederick. He has hold of a leg but Frederick is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Henry persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
Henry is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Frederick not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Frederick can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Henry controls the pace.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Frederick controls Henry momentarily but Henry frees himself.
Henry passes into half guard.
Frederick won't allow Henry to pass to mount.

Henry has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Frederick is in trouble now - Henry has advanced to mount!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Henry controlling his opponent.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

John Henry dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Henry lands a nice looking body shot.
Frederick has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Frederick looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Frederick throws a series of punches but Henry avoids them all with ease.
Frederick fails with a takedown attempt.
Henry connects with a solid leg kick.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Henry misses with a double jab.
Henry throws a leg kick which misses Frederick's front leg but catches the back leg as Frederick tries to avoid it.

A head kick lands from Henry that sends Frederick to the canvas. Frederick tries to scramble back to his feet but Henry brings him back down into side control.


It looks like Paul Frederick has been cut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Henry lands some shots froms side control.


Frederick is rocked!
Henry looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
A big shot lands for Henry! That's hurt Frederick! Will he recover? Henry fires away with more strikes and the referee has to step in to stop the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:59 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). John Henry!
John Henry decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
