Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Julio Madrigal (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sean Sorrowe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Madrigal comes to the cage accompanied by Lil Jon-Throw it Up. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 25 - 11 - 1, fighting out of New York, Julio Madrigal!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 7 - 0, fighting out of New York, Sean Sorrowe!
The judges for this bout are Jorge Garcia, David Schapiro and Reed Andrews.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sorrowe throws a body shot but no joy.
Sorrowe misses with a series of wild punches.
Sean Sorrowe seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

and Madrigal counters with a right hand to the body.
Madrigal shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Sorrowe takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

Madrigal decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Madrigal is looking to control Sorrowe's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Madrigal avoid being mounted?

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Sorrowe darts in and clinches Madrigal up against the cage.

Sorrowe throws a jab when Madrigal was well out of range.
Sorrowe lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Madrigal circles away quickly and effectively.
Sorrowe lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Madrigal backs up against the cage.


It looks like Julio Madrigal has been cut.
Madrigal ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Sorrowe takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Sorrowe missing with a left hand there. Madrigal was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.

Madrigal fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Sorrowe manages to avoid it.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Sorrowe got a little sloppy there for a moment and Madrigal has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Sorrowe has managed to get both his arms back between Madrigal's legs - danger averted.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Sorrowe avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Madrigal escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Sorrowe gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Madrigal is trying to control the position but Sorrowe postures up.

Madrigal isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Sorrowe stacks Madrigal on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Sorrowe!

That was a close second round but I would say that Julio Madrigal will probably get the nod.

Will he stop it?? One more big shot from Madrigal and the ref steps in to end the fight! Madrigal can't hide his delight as he celebrates with his corner.
