Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Paul Churchill (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pete Doherty (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Paul Churchill!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Pete Doherty!
The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, Andrew Berry and William Gold.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Doherty throws a right hand that Churchill ducks under and follows up with a left that Churchill also avoids with ease.

Churchill fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Doherty, pushing him back against the cage.
Churchill prevents the takedown attempt.
Doherty tries to break the clinch but Churchill is controlling the position.
Churchill is pressed up against the cage. Doherty has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Churchill down to the mat. Churchill avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Churchill missing with a left hand there. Doherty was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Churchill is looking to score with low kicks.
Doherty shoots in but no luck this time.
Paul Churchill has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Pete Doherty.

Doherty working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Churchill doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Churchill manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Doherty has momentary wrist control but Churchill slips an elbow through the middle.

Churchill drops back looking for a leg! Doherty is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Doherty manages to kick Churchill off! Churchill jumps back into Doherty's guard.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Doherty is on top in guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Doherty is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Churchill on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Churchill tries to get out of the position.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Doherty chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Churchill can pounce on him.

Doherty tightens his grip and picks Churchill up, before dumping him to the ground. Churchill manages to land in guard.

Doherty seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Churchill does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Doherty closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Doherty lands in his opponent's guard.
