Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jerry Herrera!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Andrew Olson!
The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, David Schapiro and John Kavanagh.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Herrera tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Olson defends well and Herrera ends up having to push Olson into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Olson tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.

Herrera is rocked!
Olson wants to pass the guard but Herrera is keeping the position.
Oh Herrera is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Olson won't allow Herrera to sweep him here.
Herrera seems to have got his legs back now.
Olson is stalling in the full guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Olson controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Olson working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Olson postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Olson pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Herrera is keeping the position for now.

Herrera looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Olson passes into side control.

Olson is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Herrera's shoulder. That is not cool.
Herrera is trying to control Olson's posture but Olson avoids it.

Olson decides to stand up, so the ref orders Herrera to his feet.
Olson throws a 1-2 combo that connects squarely on Herrera's jaw, knocking him onto his back! Olson dives in looking to finish as Herrera flails his arms in a desperate attempt to block Olson's strikes! Olson is raining down hammerfists and the ref stops it! Herrera's desperate flailing just didn't constitute intelligent defence. Some people will probably question the ref's decision but Herrera was definitely hurt and the ref saved him from taking unnecessary punishment. A fighter's safety is paramount in this sport.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Andrew Olson!
An out of breath Andrew Olson thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
