PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Hans Tuckich (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Andrew Havener (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Havener has chosen My Dick: Mickey Avalon as his entrance music. Andrew Havener will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 5 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Hans Tuckich!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 18 - 23 - 4, fighting out of St Petersburg, Andrew Havener!
The judges for this bout are Vladimir Khabensky, Fedor Mirinova and Ivan Kurochkin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tuckich takes a shot to the body in his stride.

Havener clinches up against the cage.
Havener misses with an elbow strike.
Tuckich is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Havener is defending well.
Tuckich goes for a takedown in the clinch but Havener prevents it.
Tuckich is working for takedown but Havener is calmly controlling the position for now.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Hans Tuckich. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Tuckich blocks the elbow strike.
Havener trying to land knees to the body.
Havener effectively controlling the action here.
Tuckich wants to take the fight to the mat but Havener manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.

Havener misses with some strikes from the bottom.
Tuckich is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.

Tuckich wants to work for an arm triangle but Havener is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Tuckich is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Havener doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Tuckich.
Tuckich not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Tuckich has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Havener is staying active underneath Tuckich, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Tuckich is looking for a kimura here.

Tuckich is keen to just control but Havener is a slippery customer.
Tuckich stops Havener from getting back to his feet.
Havener makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Havener.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Havener gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Andrew Havener seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Havener doesn't manage to clinch there - Tuckich circles away.
A swing and a miss from Tuckich.
Tuckich shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Havener sprawls well. Havener wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Tuckich gets slowly back to his feet.
Havener shoots in but Tuckich avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Tuckich gets tackled into the cage by Havener. Havener maintains the clinch.

Tuckich breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
A nice leg kick lands there from Havener.
Havener thows a leg kick but Tuckich checks it

and Tuckich counters with a single leg into guard. Havener didn't expect that.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Havener is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Tuckich is aware though and is defending well.
Havener really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Tuckich. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Tuckich is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Havener is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Havener has escaped and now he's on top!

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Tuckich looking to hit a scissor sweep but Havener is one step ahead there.
Tuckich is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Hans Tuckich will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Havener moves in looking to clinch but Tuckich pushes him off.
Havener scores to the head and body with a nice combination!


It looks like Hans Tuckich has been cut.
Havener misses with a kick to the body.
Tuckich avoids the head kick by Havener.
Tuckich looks to score with a jab to the body but Havener is just out of range.
Tuckich uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Havener.
Havener has a takedown stuffed.

Havener has Tuckich up against the cage in a clinch.
Tuckich stalling in the clinch but Havener improves position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Havener missing with knees to the body.
Havener tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
Tuckich just leaning against Havener, taking a breather.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Tuckich takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.

Havener breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Tuckich closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Tuckich lands in his opponent's guard.
Tuckich chips away with some ground and pound.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Havener not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Havener wants to get back to his feet but Tuckich is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Havener looking to hit a scissor sweep but Tuckich is one step ahead there.
Tuckich connects with a couple of short punches.

Havener keeping moving, preventing Tuckich from controlling successfully.
Havener trying to keep a closed guard but Tuckich is proving a slippery customer.

Tuckich drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Tuckich jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Tuckich postures up in Havener's guard and throws a big left but Havener blocks it.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Tuckich avoids the head kick by Havener.
Havener scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.

Havener tries to close the distance and clinch up but Tuckich swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Tuckich misses with a straight left.
Havener takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Havener tries to move into range but Tuckich moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Havener fails with an attempt to clinch.
Havener closes the distance and clinches up with Tuckich, looking for a takedown. Havener pushes Tuckich against the cage but Tuckich circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Havener leaves Tuckich with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Tuckich misses the shot to the body.
Havener follows through with a counter body kick but it doesn't land.
Havener throws a right and a left that both miss.
Havener fails with an attempt to clinch.

Havener is defending against the submission attempts here by Tuckich.

Tuckich wants to control but Havener is keeping him busy.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Tuckich wants to free his trapped foot but Havener is holding on for dear life with his legs.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:40 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Hans Tuckich!
After winning the bout, Hans Tuckich thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
Andrew Havener spoke after the fight, saying 'Win/lose I love an ass beating'.
