Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Alexander Emelianenko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rui Rodrigo Germano (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Germano has chosen Black Flood Diesel - Lost Cause as his entrance music. Alexander Emelianenko has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Rui Rodrigo Germano!
The judges for this bout are Josh West, Roger Salmon and Colin Fray.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Emelianenko defending well as Germano loads up on a big left hand.
Emelianenko fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Germano manages to avoid it.
No luck for Emelianenko with that takedown attempt.
Germano swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Germano connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Germano misses with a wild body shot.
Emelianenko fails with a takedown attempt.
Germano keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Emelianenko closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.

It looks like Alexander Emelianenko has been cut.
Germano tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Emelianenko was well out of range. Poor timing from Germano.
Germano throws a body shot but no joy.

Germano gets caught napping as Emelianenko dives in and scores a takedown. Germano manages to retain guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Both fighters have adopted an aggressive gameplan on the ground!

Germano working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Emelianenko doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Emelianenko manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Germano has hold of a guillotine but he's not going to be able to crank on it really with only half guard, so it's no trouble for Emelianenko. Oh but Germano has got full guard now! Oh boy! This one could be over very soon! Emelianenko goes limp - he's gone! Germano jumps up and celebrates with the crowd - fantastic submission finish!

Rui Rodrigo Germano was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
