Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Arturo Atunes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nero Padilla (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Padilla's choice of entrance music: Dead by Dawn by Deicide. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

With a record of 17 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Nero Padilla!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Timothy Bukovac and Don Winkell.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Padilla ducks right into an uppercut from Atunes.
Padilla takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Nice defenses there by Padilla.
Atunes is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Padilla.
Padilla checks the leg kick nicely there.
Atunes throws a hook to the side of Padilla's head but Padilla sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Atunes thows a body kick. Padilla tries to catch it but that hurt him.

As Atunes backs off Padilla throws a huge counter combo but Atunes manages to avoid it all.

Atunes cracks Padilla with a good jab.
Padilla steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Atunes.
Atunes is looking to chop away at Padilla's legs.
Padilla swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Atunes scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.

Atunes will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Padilla is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Atunes defends well.

Padilla working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Atunes doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Atunes manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Atunes has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Padilla to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Atunes is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Padilla pulls down on the head and he's put Atunes to sleep! This one is all over!
