The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Preuss uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Virtanen uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Preuss.
Virtanen thumps Preuss with a low kick.
Virtanen throws the left hand but Preuss avoids the punch easily.
Preuss misses with the combination.
Virtanen slips a jab and a cross from Preuss.
Virtanen throws a leg kick which misses Preuss's front leg but catches the back leg as Preuss tries to avoid it.
Preuss scores with a hook.
Virtanen is looking to slow Preuss down with leg kicks.
Preuss throws a series of strikes that have Virtanen backpedaling.
Virtanen loads up on a big right hand but Preuss slips the punch.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Preuss has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Savio Preuss seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
