PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Nicolas Arenas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Namba Babakla (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Arenas comes to the ring accompanied by Alive-Krewella. Babakla is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Dhifo Shaacir ku dhufo Hit. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Nicolas Arenas!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Namba Babakla!
The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Luis Engracia and Thiago Cunha.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Arenas throws a series of punches but Babakla moves out of range.
Babakla walks into a left hand.
Arenas's jab looks to have found its range, popping Babakla under the eye.

Babakla moves into the clinch.
Babakla jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Arenas walks away with a smile on his face. Babakla gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Arenas lets loose with a powerful body kick. Babakla will feel that in the morning.
Arenas bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Arenas circles away from the clinch attempt
and Arenas counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Babakla fails with an attempt to clinch.
A jab from Arenas does it's job there.
We've been told by Arenas's head coaches at Franklin D. Bluth Memorial Supergym that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Arenas tries to score with a low kick but Babakla moves his leg out of the way.
Babakla looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

Babakla gets a clinch.

Babakla pulls guard successfully.
Arenas wants to get up but he can't break Babakla's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Babakla looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Babakla has a closed guard, preventing Arenas from standing up.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Babakla looking for a sweep. Not yet Babakla, not yet.

Babakla has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Arenas doesn't defend quickly enough and Babakla has managed to lock this one up! Can Arenas escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Babakla on a fantastic submission victory.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:28 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Namba Babakla!
Namba Babakla decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
