Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Franco Colombo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Raptor Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Franco Colombo has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 22 - 43 - 0, fighting out of New York, Franco Colombo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Raptor Jones!
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, George Francis and Gwen Towbar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones shoots for a takedown but Colombo saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Jones shoots in and drives through. Colombo sprawls well.
Colombo went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
Jones tries to bum rush Colombo with a series of wild strikes but Colombo uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Colombo throws out a powerful jab.


It looks like Raptor Jones has been cut.
A head kick by Colombo misses

and Jones counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.

Jones is looking for a kimura here.

Jones looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Jones drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Colombo manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Jones has Colombo in his guard.

Jones is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Colombo is just riding it out for now. Jones eventually gives up the hold.

Jones throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Colombo.
Colombo throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Franco Colombo has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Raptor Jones.

Colombo tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Colombo has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Jones is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Colombo off and has taken his back!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Jones has got his arm under Colombo's chin working for the choke… has he got it? It looks pretty tight! Oh! Colombo has spun round into Jones's guard beautifully! Well done that man!

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Jones can do anything to dispel that myth.
