Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Gregor Samsa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jim Murphy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Gregor Samsa!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jim Murphy!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Chris Downing and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Murphy uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Samsa.

Murphy scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Samsa doesn't seem bothered though.

enabling Murphy to counter with a crisp jab.
Murphy throws a jab but it's blocked by Samsa.
Samsa throws a counter high kick but Murphy was just alert enough to avoid it.
A left lands for Murphy.
Samsa misses with a combination
and Murphy cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Murphy, as that shot connected.
Murphy scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.

Murphy misses with a looping left.
Samsa went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
Murphy fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Samsa swings widly with a right hand
and Murphy counters with a stiff right hand.
Murphy connects with a right hand. Samsa shakes it off.
Samsa fails in his attempt to clinch.
Murphy throws a lazy right hand but Samsa sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Murphy throws a hook but Samsa avoids it easily.
Samsa looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that.
Murphy throws a shot from downtown. Samsa moves away and avoids it.
Samsa's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Murphy connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Samsa scrambles back to his feet.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Samsa tried to score with a low kick but Murphy checks it.
Samsa tries a head kick but it misses.
Samsa throws a series of punches but Murphy avoids them all with ease.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Murphy has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
A head kick from Samsa lands but Murphy takes it in his stride.

and Murphy counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Murphy might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.

Samsa fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Murphy manages to avoid it.
The fighters circling - Murphy throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

Murphy stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Murphy looks to land a combination. Samsa sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.

and Murphy counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

Murphy takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Samsa throws a right and a left that Murphy avoids nicely.
Samsa walks into a stiff left hand from Murphy.
Samsa rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Murphy moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Samsa on the wrong end of a nice jab.
Murphy shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Samsa eats them both and turns towards Murphy to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.


Samsa is rocked!
Murphy lands with an overhand left.
Oh Samsa is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Samsa lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Murphy has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Murphy and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Murphy works the jab nicely.
Samsa walks straight into a right hand from Murphy - that's dropped him! Murphy jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save Samsa from any more punishment! Samsa complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:59 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Jim Murphy!
Jim Murphy bigged himself up after the win. The crowd seemed to love it.
