Perez comes to the cage accompanied by Another One Bites The Dust. Pascual Perez has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 1, fighting out of New York, Pascual Perez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jason Randall!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Chris Downing and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Perez is defended easily by Randall.
Perez shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Randall defends it nicely.
Perez has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Cozad MMA New York in the buildup to the fight.

Randall darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

Randall seems to be working for a kimura but Perez defends the submission attempt.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Randall looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

Randall is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Perez defends it well.

Randall is looking to take a break and control but Perez is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Randall is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Perez defends it well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Perez is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Randall's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Randall's back!

Perez has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Randall has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
Randall is really stuck here.

Perez is looking for a rear naked choke here but Randall reverses the position brilliantly into Perez's guard!
Perez looking to hit a scissor sweep but Randall is one step ahead there.

Randall drops back looking for a leg! Perez is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Perez manages to kick Randall off! Randall jumps back into Perez's guard.

Perez looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Randall is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Perez keeping full guard, as Randall tries to pass.

Perez is looking for a triangle but Randall pushes his legs off easily.
Perez is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Randall trying to control the position from guard on top but Perez is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Randall has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Perez is proving hard to escape from.

Perez is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Randall has gone for a leg lock! Perez slips out almost immediately though and dives into Randall's guard.

Perez loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jason Randall dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.



Randall shoots in and bounces Perez off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Randall wants to control from the top but Perez keeps moving.
Randall has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Randall stays in close to Perez's body and controls the position.
Randall trying to control the position from guard on top but Perez is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Randall got a little sloppy there for a moment and Perez has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Randall has managed to get both his arms back between Perez's legs - danger averted.
Perez wants to hit a switch here but Randall passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Perez there!

Perez tries to get back to half guard but can't.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Perez throwing hammer fists to the chest of Randall. What's that going to do exactly?

Randall is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Perez to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Perez shrugs it off.

Randall working for a guillotine from mount but Perez is in no mood to give up.
Randall trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Perez tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Randall mounts Perez! Really nice guard pass there!
Randall controlling the pace for now.
Perez is working to get back to half guard.
Perez wants to hold on but Randall pushes him away.

Perez is desperately trying to improve his position but Randall has a good base and remains in mount.
Randall fails to advance to Perez's back.
Randall is in the full mount, landing strikes.
Randall looking to control but Perez is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Randall fails to take his opponent's back.

Randall has hold of Perez's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Perez manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Perez is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.

Perez tries to hold on but Randall pushes him away.
Perez regains half guard.

Randall is working for a kimura but Perez is defending it quite comfortably.
Randall lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Randall wants to stand up but Perez has a hold of him and won't allow it.

Randall is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Randall is breathing heavily.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Perez trying to hold on to Randall's head to control him but Randall postures up.
Perez tries to kick Randall off but Randall keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Randall seems to be looking for submissions.
Perez is trying to maintain the position but Randall is very close to passing his half guard.

Randall wants to work for an arm triangle but Perez is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Perez wants to get back to his feet.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Randall is looking for a kimura but Perez is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Randall to get the leverage.

Randall is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Perez is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
