The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Silva instigates a clinch.
Collins misses with a punch to the body.

Silva breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Silva tries to pull guard but Collins won't allow it.

Brian Collins seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

It looks like Jander Silva has been cut.

Silva isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Collins stacks Silva on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Collins!

Collins takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Silva tries to reverse the position but Collins maintains control.
Silva is trying to escape the mount but Collins keeps good control and instead manages to take Silva's back.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Silva is very frustrated here, being controlled quite effectively by Collins.

Silva finds himself stumbling back on wobbly legs after being clipped by a right hand. He's up against the cage, ducking and weaving under Collins's strikes but an uppercut finds it's way through and Silva falls! - He's completely out of it and the ref jumps in to save him!
