Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 23 - 15 - 2, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Mitsuyo Maeda!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 20 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Bruce Banner!
The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Matheus Silva and Alexandre Firmino.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maeda lands a nice shot that snaps Banner's head back.
Banner connects with a jab.
Banner uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Maeda.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Banner has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Banner ducks under a wild hook from Maeda.
Banner is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.
Banner throws a body shot but no joy.
Maeda scores with a sloppy right hand. Banner should have avoided that one.
