Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Damien Roads (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Michael Pope (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pope is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: For Whom The Bell Tolls. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Michael Pope was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Daniel Cesar and Alexandre Firmino.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Roads moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Damien Roads seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A telegraphed right hand from Roads misses the target.
It seemed like Pope was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Roads misses with a right hand
and Pope counters with a nice uppercut.
Roads digs a good hook to Pope's body.
Pope keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Roads throws a nice looking combination but Pope bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Despite the aggression on Pope's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.
Roads tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Pope was well out of range. Poor timing from Roads.

Pope moves into the clinch.
With the fighters up against the cage, Pope throws an elbow but misses.

Roads stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Roads slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.

and Pope counters with a left and a right that hurts Roads! He wobbles and falls to the floor - he's in big trouble! Pope jumps into full mount!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Roads tries to reverse the position but Pope maintains control.

Pope stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet.
Roads swings and misses with a shot to the body
and Pope counters with a huge head kick that drops Roads! The ref dives in to stop the fight and the crowd goes wild!

In his post fight interview, Michael Pope started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
