The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Persecutioned rushes Gilbert and presses him up against the cage.
Persecutioned swings wildly with an uppercut but Gilbert uses good head movement to avoid it.
Still in the clinch, Persecutioned scores with a nice short uppercut.
Gilbert can't get the takedown.
Gilbert is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Persecutioned gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

Gilbert tightens his grip and picks Persecutioned up, before dumping him to the ground. Persecutioned manages to land in guard.

Gilbert drops back looking for a leg! Persecutioned is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Persecutioned manages to kick Gilbert off! Gilbert jumps back into Persecutioned's guard.
Persecutioned is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Gilbert drops back, looking for a kneebar! Persecutioned looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Persecutioned looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Persecutioned!
