PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Purple Haze (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chuck Neptune (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 11 - 0, fighting out of New York, Purple Haze!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Chuck Neptune!
The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, John Roberts and Columbo Gatti.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Haze changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Neptune tries to avoid it but Haze manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Neptune to the ground. Neptune escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Neptune manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Haze on his heels. He'll look to pass Haze's guard now, I'm sure.
Neptune throws a big elbow that misses.
Haze can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Neptune controls the pace.
Haze avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Neptune trying to control but Haze is working from the bottom.
Neptune sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Haze's guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Neptune passes the guard and advances to mount!
Neptune thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage.

Neptune throws some wild stikes that Haze manages to avoid easily.
Neptune has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

It looks like Purple Haze has been cut.
Neptune sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!

Haze is in a horrible position here. Neptune smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.


Purple Haze's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.

Neptune is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Haze has managed to escape the submission attempt.
