Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Dmitry Petrenko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Matthew Connor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Petrenko comes to the cage accompanied by Bro Hymm/ Pennywise. Connor has chosen Red Hot Chili Peppers - Can't stop as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 29 - 18 - 0, fighting out of New York, Dmitry Petrenko!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 10 - 1, fighting out of New York, Matthew Connor!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Yves DeLean and William Peck.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Petrenko misses with a double jab
and Connor counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Petrenko thinking.
Petrenko looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.

Petrenko rushes Connor and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Connor misses with a short punch on the inside.
Our sources have told us that Petrenko has been working on his knees in the buildup to the fight.
Connor wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Connor wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Petrenko has him pressed against the cage.
Connor wants to get back to striking at distance but Petrenko won't allow it.
Petrenko crunches a lovely knee into Connor's ribcage.

Connor has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Connor wants to get back to striking at distance but Petrenko won't allow it.
Petrenko is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Connor is defending well for now.

Petrenko tries to stall but Connor uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Petrenko can't seem to implement his control oriented gameplan at the moment. That's no bad thing of course, for those of us who want to see a good fight.
Petrenko misses with an elbow strike.
Connor lands a shot to the body.
Petrenko lands an elbow just above Connor 's eye.


It looks like Matthew Connor has been cut.

Petrenko misses with a hook to the ribs.

Connor is struggling to control the position.
Petrenko tries to throw a body punch but Connor avoids it by throwing Petrenko back against the cage.
Connor is looking to break free of the clinch but Petrenko has double underhooks.
With the two fighters working up against the cage, Petrenko just misses with a elbow thrown towards Connor's brow.
Petrenko scores with a hook to the body.
Connor on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
The referee calls for Petrenko to work.

Connor lands a shoulder strike.
Petrenko lands a nice shot to the body.
A shot in the inside from Connor.

Connor breaks the clinch.
Nice body kick there by Connor.

Connor has tried to improve his agility in the runup to this fight.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Connor throws a chopping leg kick but Petrenko manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
Connor throws a hook but Petrenko blocks it.
Petrenko misses with an uppercut. Connor saw that one coming.
Despite the aggression on Connor's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Connor misses with a head kick.
Petrenko drops down looking for a counter takedown but Connor sprawls and moves away.
Connor looks to land a combination. Petrenko sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Petrenko throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Petrenko pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Connor only half commits to the counter leg kick.
Petrenko blocks the body kick.
Petrenko tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Connor counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Petrenko throws a series of punches but Connor avoids them all with ease.
A looping hook to the body misses from Petrenko. Connor does a little dance to reset his feet.
Connor tries to counter with a clinch but Petrenko shakes him off and moves away.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
A lazy left from Petrenko finds it's target.
Petrenko is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Connor! But no joy.
The fighters circle, before Petrenko throws a beautiful high kick that crashes into Connor's neck, sending him stumbling to the floor! Petrenko lands more strikes and forces a referee stoppage! That one ended in an instant!
