Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 6 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Keiichi Yamada!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 13 - 0, fighting out of London, Paul Harris!
The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, Colin Fotheringham and Richard Clark.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Yamada scores with a takedown into Harris's guard.
Harris is adopting a defensive guard.
Harris tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Yamada avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Harris goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Yamada is on top in guard.
Harris is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Harris throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Harris is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Harris is trying to stand back up but Yamada is controlling him
Yamada is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Harris can do to turn this around?
Yamada seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Harris does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Harris is positioning himself well to prevent Yamada advancing to mount.
Harris regains full guard. Nicely done.

Harris has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

That's time! Yamada's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. And we move into the final round!


A telegraphed takedown attempt from Yamada is defended easily by Harris.
A little jabbing left from Harris on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Harris throws a right and a left that both miss.
Yamada half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
Harris throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Yamada looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Yamada tries to score a power double leg takedown but Harris sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Yamada somewhat.

Harris misses with a double jab.
Yamada tries to counter with a takedown but Harris is quick to defend against it.
Harris fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Harris throws an ugly left hook that misses

and Yamada moves into the clinch.
Harris has Yamada pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Yamada manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Yamada is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Harris is keeping busy.

Harris misses with a looping left.
Yamada drops down looking for a counter takedown but Harris sprawls and moves away.

Harris uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
No joy there for Harris, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Yamada feinted with a counter takedown.
Paul Harris seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Yamada shoots in looking for a takedown. Harris tries to sprawl out of it but Yamada keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Harris manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
As Yamada backs off Harris throws a huge counter combo but Yamada manages to avoid it all.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Keiichi Yamada. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Yamada takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.

Harris misses with a leg kick.
Yamada tries to counter by clinching up but Harris breaks away and moves out of range.
Keiichi Yamada is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Yamada displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Harris throws out the jab.
Harris loads up on a big right hand but Yamada slips the punch.
Yamada tries to counter with a takedown but Harris is quick to defend against it.
Paul Harris is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Yamada tries to clinch up but Harris circles away and keeps his distance.

Yamada dodges the punch combination from Harris.
Yamada feinted with a counter takedown.

Paul Harris comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Yamada has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
