The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tessin changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Hastings looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Tessin controls the position from side control.
You can see the frustration on Hastings's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Hastings trying to remain calm as Tessin controls from the top position.
It looks like Tessin might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
Tessin has knee on belly and moves into mount.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Tessin is controlling this nicely and is looking to make no mistakes. Hastings is trying to wiggle out of this horrible position. Hastings flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. Tessin anticipates the leg and manages to get behind Hastings and secures both hooks! This could be bad! Tessin slips an arm under Hastings chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. Tessin has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. Tessin is squeezing on Hastings like an anaconda would it's prey. Hastings fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!
